Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.6/100, a mean average of 67.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

An underrated debut by a great band

Woefully underrated. This is not the Spoon of 2017, 2010, 2007, or even 2001, but what is here is a collection of gripping, rocking, Pixies-esque post-punk tunes played by the same guys who would eventually bring you Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga and others. It's Spoon at their most raw, their most angry, and their most unique (relative to themselves).

Kind of a cross between Nirvana and Everclear.

I disagree with anyone saying that this album isn't worth a listen. It might be Spoon's least good album (I'm not even sure though), but it's still really good!

A real violent record, raw and very creative. We can definitely hear the potential of the band. "Telephono" is a must-listen for any Spoon fan!

Spoon's debut isn't much. It is pretty rough and raw. They don't know their identity yet.

Start listening at Girls Can Tell. Maybe spin this once or twice if your a band fan to see the development of a great band

by far the weakest album by Spoon, however it has some grittiness in the way Britt's vocals scrape up against the guitars which is good
