Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 2% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 80.8/100, a mean average of 80.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.6/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 14.4.

Spoon are a great band. That being said, I don't find myself wowed by them most of the time - with the exception of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, which I think is their best album, and parts of Gimme Fiction. They don't have any albums I would consider bad, though. Always down to listen to some Spoon.
Updated opinion - Spoon have grown on me. I've come to appreciate their sound.
Album rankings:
1. Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
2. Hot Thoughts
3. Gimme Fiction
4. Transference
5. They Want My Soul
6. Kill the Moonlight
7. Girls Can Tell
All are solid albums, but only the top really stand out.
I'm fairly certain these guys are the fathers of indie-rock. If you like the genre, you'll find it easily within the core of the band. What's interesting is that, no matter if they pepper indie with another genre (electronic, dance, folk, garage, etc.), they still know how to write a damn catchy hook. Sure, some songs are much better than others, but as a whole, their albums (with the exception of their first) are consistently interesting and fun, yet captivating and risky. And they're incredible live! They know their audience and know how to make a great set list while still promoting a new album! I really admire that in a band.

9. Telephono
Everybody seems to agree on the fact that Spoon can't make a bad album. Add me to that group, because so far, I love everything Spoon has done. What's even more impressive to me is that they seem to keep on getting better all the time. I think their best work has come recently because their last 4 albums (Hot Thoughts, They Want My Soul, Transference and Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga) are my 4 favorite from them. And it's not because their previous work wasn't great! A Series Of Sneaks, Kill The Moonlight and Girls Can Tell are also very impressive pieces of art.
But that's the thing with Spoon, they keep on getting better and never ever disappoint. I don't think they've made a 10/10 album yet (even though they came close on multiple occasions), but I think the best is yet to come for this amazing band. And that's impressive, considering how far they are in their carrer!
So casual, yet so precise. I listened to 7 of their albums over 2017 and i am yet to find one i dislike.
As far as I'm concerned, it is against the laws of science to make a bad Spoon album
I have grown to appreciate Spoon over more popular indie rock bands such as The Strokes and Interpol, because the quality of their songs is so consistent and their style is unique. Their older albums also seem to have aged pretty well, especially Kill The Moonlight.
One of my favorite bands. For me their sound defines indie-rock, its not too hard or too soft.
Can't say they've wowed me much beyond their top ranked album.
Just a really great band, better than a lot of other bands I really love or who are so much bigger. Such a familiar sound in some ways, so exuberantly well-explored throughout their impressive and continually growing catalogue. Saw them live and was impressed by the work of Jim Eno, as important to this band's sound as Britt Daniel.
