This is a really good album by far her best up to this point all the uptempo tracks come one after the other followed by the slower tracks at the end of the album. It runs very smoothly best tracks for me are If, Throb, That's the Way Love Goes & all the slower tacks at the end. A great RnB album. Technically there are 14 tracks on this album, taking out all the tracks that are interludes.
An R&B, genre-defining, DECADE-defining, album. Every track is pretty good, and while none are good to dance to (like Rhythm Nation) they have a groove that's good for...other things. Many of the interludes are unnecessary. The album is very diverse, with rap, funk, R&B, pop, even opera. Truly amazing.
Rather average. Nothing special.

she really lucked out when she hooked up with Jimmy Jam and terry Lewis.
This is her best selling album to date. Well, I like it but she has much better albums. Anyway, I love "If", "Again", "You Want This" and "New Agenda" very much

janet jackson's "janet." found ms jackson going down & dirty on any man that walked by like she was swept up in a modern-day mating ritual (as opposed to just fornicating...i'm talking more like fornication and a day-after phone call). She has a couple of interesting guests -- chuck d from PE livened up one track, and an opera singer belted background vocals on another (and that worked quite well). Very good pop album.
