Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.8/100, a mean average of 63.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 63.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.8.

Slightly better than the terrible 'The Science Of Things' but still forgettable .
I started Bush here on Golden State.
Come to find out it is a back to basics album which is scary because this band is really really basic.
That being said it is probably their most consistently average album in their catalogue. There aren't any great songs but they have tweaked the alt grunge sound enough to make it a little interesting after a few listens.
Float, Headful of Ghosts, People We Love are good songs.
Golden State is a decent alt/grunge album with less filler than their 2 previous releases.
I rank this as 2nd best Bush of their first four albums.
I haven't listened to Sea of Memories because, C'mon, it's Bush. How different can it really be?
Although it's both safe and back-to-basics, it's definitely an improvement over Deconstructed and The Science of Things. "The People That We Love" is especially awesome.
Really samey and predictable. This was the last album they put out before the breakup and it was a sad note to go out on. Fortunately we have The Sea of Memories now!
