Definitely an improvement over any studio KISS I've been subjected to.
It's an alright live album. Absolutely loved it 35 years ago. When I listen to it now though I find it has a bit of a dated sound. Still good, just not worthy of all the accolades it receives.

Live album with an amazing set list considering they only had 3 studio albums to draw from. It rocks hard from start to finish.

One of the very best ‘live’ albums of all time, Alive! catapulted the band into superstardom. I’ve been listening to this for many years and it still sounds fresh and exciting. A must for any Kiss fan, and/or any hard rock fan.
Good live album. I like the guitar work here over the studio versions of the songs. In other words, Kiss rocks harder in their live albums.

Extra points for it´s energy.
The first record I ever bought...I have never bought a better one. Simply perfect and powerful. Did they touch it up in the studio? Unless you want to claim they invented the idea its irrelevant. Almost all live records are. The song selection pulled almost all the best tracks from the first three records and made them all even better. A rarity still in these days. This record justifies all the fame and fortune that came after it.
A fun rock/metal classic. Obviously, alive, has a load of overdubs, but is still Kiss at their best. All the classics are here; deuce, strutter, black diamond, and, rock and roll all nite. It's just a great rock'n'roll album.
