Proves to be weaker than Autechre's previous landmark record "Tri Repetae", but the substitution of ambient techno for harsher glitch/noise is an interesting evolution in their music and although the tracks on "Chiastic Slide" are quite lengthy and repetitive, they do start to become hypnotic with further listens.

Thankfully, "Chiastic Slide" still retains Autechre's greatest quality: the ability to translate complex layers of electronica into something digestible and human. "Cichli" in particular is stunning.

Another great summary and I 100 percent agree with it. I deliberated long and hard whether to include 'Chiastic Slide' or the equally brilliant 'Incunabula' in my chart. I eventually decided on the latter but tomorrow this could change.
