With every PJ Harvey album, I find myself thinking, "This doesn't sound like anything she's done before." Then, after I've listened to it a few times, it starts to make more sense as part of her catalog. So, too, with this one. It's technically a collaboration between Harvey and John Parish, and is billed as such. But given that Parish has been so involved with Harvey's previous albums, including a previous credited collaboration, I am not sure the distinction means much to anyone but Parish.
