Some people will find this record too bloated and commercialized, I'm sure, but what can I say? I love Lungs epic arrangements, and Florence's soaring vocals are completely astonishing.

I get why some find her voice irritating but for me it works very well and I found this album refreshingly different when it came out - plus I like the fact she gives it 100%. There are a lot of great songs here but if anything I prefer their next two albums perhaps as I played this one too much but also I think Ceremonials and How Big are a little more mature and less idiosyncratic.

Fun pop sound. Youtube their live, pared-down Cosmic Love - very highly recommended.

Full of power, full of creativity, full of everything what you can get from music. I don't like this kind of music, but it just amazed me both the singer and the sound. For me the highlight is the "Girl with one eye", but you will love the full album or you will hate it.

Great voice which leads to a great debut. One of the better debuts of the decade with Cosmic Love being a personal standout.

Pretty great pop record. A lot of talent here, especially with Florence Welch's vocals. Unfortunately they didn't keep up this same level of high quality with their next two albums (which are still good). Rabbit Heart is the best track.

I'm considering heightening my score for this one because more listens alter my opinion about it bit by bit. Sure there're still weak moments but the strong tracks just grew stronger for me. I find that her potent voice works really well for some songs here, especially Blinding, which in my opinion is quite underrated on this site.

I think Lungs is good album and a great debut either. It demonstrates all the capacity this band reached today. But I feel something that I can't denied: Ceremonials is a better album, totally special to me.
