I actually enjoyed the over-arching storyline that held for the entire album. The songs were same sounding, but that sprung from the characters who inhabited each song and were repeated from song to song. "Grandpa's Interview" is a terrific groove and makes an excellent centerpiece for the album.
I can't help but notice that there are very few comments on this album. On other record review sites this album is put down a lot. I just don't get the hate. This is a great album IMHO. I'll admit that it's not on the top of the heap of concept albums like "Thick As A Brick", "2112" or "The Lamb Lies Down" but it still a very nice listen!

Great album for the old Neil.
Mostly acoustic and with a weird buzz from the guitar strings all over the record.
Many dismiss this album as preachy and similar sounding. I find the story superb, and the similarities in style and sound add to the package theme. Great album.
