The album was recorded live at Amsterdam's Melkweg Club on May 28 and June 30, 1977. The Exalto Mobile studio was responsible for the sound, and the final mix was done at Zeezicht Studio (Haarlem). The release was released by the Munich Records label (catalog number BM 150.214).
The main feature is the atmosphere of a live performance. Here, the energy of the hall, the improvisations of the musicians and a slightly more "raw", natural sound are heard better than on studio recordings. At the same time, the band shows how they can interpret other people's compositions in their own way: the track list contains many covers by famous authors (Davis, Reed, Bonner, Turner, Cash). Barrelhouse does not just copy the originals, but skips the songs through their own style — blues-rock with instruments characteristic of the band (accordion, piano, dense guitar parts).
