Massively underrated album, I really am really surprised that it is not higher in the ratings. It is somewhat blousier than her work from the sixties and seventies, she's playing with pastiche and damn it, she's having fun and why not? Her cover of Leiber and Stoller's (You're So Square) Baby I Don't Care seems to be there just for shits and giggles and is a hoot but, for all that it serves as a nice contrasting palette cleanser for the last four tracks of the album. The album has a shape to it and there are some really lovely and haunting tunes in there, It is certainly rewarding on first listen. Moon At The Window and Man to Man will lure lure you back for a second. (Edited)
Not on anyone else's list I know, but I really like this album. Fantastic tracks such as Chinese Cafe, Light At The Window & Man To Man.
