Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 24% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.7/100, a mean average of 73.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.7.

One of my earliest vinyl’s I bought is on the folk side with great melodies. His songwriting makes for pleasant listening. While there may be other songs that may have helped him make his breakthrough, this album was his best in my opinion.

Taylor follows up his breakout record with another very solid effort. Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon carries some of his trademark tracks. The album is a bit more produced than Sweet Baby James, but Taylor's sound remains in tact. Its a solid rival to its predecessor and I listen to it nearly as much.

Almost on a par with Sweet Baby James, it only falls short by a fraction. But it does contain three songs that would make his all time top 10 - Long Ago And Far Away, You Can Close Your Eyes and You've Got A Friend.

I agree with the preceding comment that it's not as good as, Sweet baby James. The songs just simply aren't as good. A good, competent album but nowhere near the greatness of, Sweet baby James.

Not as strong as Sweet Baby James, but You've Got A Friend is always a winner.
