Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 66.3/100, a mean average of 65.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.0.

Put out after 'Defenders of the Faith' which was always going to be a hard act to follow. I remember when this came out it got hammered in reviews due to them using synth guitars. The title track is up there with the best tracks they've made. There's a couple of songs where the synth guitars are quite prevalent but overall it's a stock standard meat and potatoes classic metal album. Overall it's an average album from them. Nothing to get excited about but it's still alright.

Definitely unfairly criticized but it was a bit of a departure sound wise it is more melodic and catchy with synths sounds. Think more hair metal than the heavy metal of the past. A lot of songs I like including the title track, Locked In, Private Property, Parental Guidance, Out In the Cold and Reckless but nothing really bad.

It's not bad album but it,s not good too
I always thought this album cover was shite but the music within makes up for it. Judas Priest with synths does work. 'Turbo Lover' and 'Out in the Cold' are great tracks. There is some excellent guitar work on this album which blends really well with the eighties synth textures.
I think they pull it off. More fun and playful than Van Halen but also equally creative.
