Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.2/100, a mean average of 76.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.7.

Gang Starr have a string of 4 classic hip hop albums all released during the 90s, this is their second best in my opinion, after Moment of Truth.

My favourite Gang Starr album. I love the minimalistic, dusty production style of DJ Premier on this one. The twisted beats and samples on 'Flip the Script', 'Soliloquy Of Chaos' and 'Take it Personal' are insane. Guru's deadly rhymes are also on point.

How's Moment of Truth going to be the highest ranked Gang Starr record on here? This and Hard to Earn are better. This even has a nice Pryor sample on The Illest Brother.

Gang Starr's best album. Has a beautiful spontaneity about it. Guru's best rhymes throughout, and some brilliantly put together songs ('Ex Girl To Next', 'BYS', 'Take It Personal', 'The Place Where We Dwell'). Primo was the master of the soul loop and drum sample at this point. Motherfucker made the 808 irrelevant for like 20 years. That shit's only coming back into style around now. Beastly.
