An excellent album. I studied Spanish and Italian, so I can understand about 5% of the lyrics. lol The music is very good. 9/10!
Chico's masterpiece. A very sad and dark record, as the times in which it was released. There's a cover of Lucio Dalla and a few collaborations with Vinicius de Moraes, besides Toquinho and Tom Jobim.

I was expecting just some Brazilian dance music, which this album has, but Construção is more. The songs are nuanced and the instrumentation is completely unique. Great album.
Confesso que eu acabei de ouvir esse álbum, confesso também que eu já o amei! Ouvi as coisas mais antigas do Chico dos anos 60 e não tinha achado nada demais, mas, sempre ouvi coisas boas sobre esse albúm, e minha nossa, não é por nada!
Esse álbum é pura poesia, pura, pura poesia, e Chico comprova ser um dos, se não o nosso maior poeta vivo. A música é aquele samba pós-bossa e pós-tropicália que existe ali pra dizer "esse disco é brasileiro e se tu não gosta cai fora" e eu simplesmente amei isso.
Sem falar na genialidade ao falar da ditadura principalmente nas faixas "Construção" e "Cordão", sério, este disco conseguiu me impressionar de cara, e não posso dizer a mesma coisa pra muitos outros discos da MPB.

Chico brincou com as palavras dando diversas camadas de significados, sendo destas, a mais forte, a discordância com a ditadura política. A censura inspirou o gênio!

Very solid album!
Chico's singing and the rhythm section are contagious.
Also the winds & strings arrangements have a very nice attack.
Beautiful! I'm just happy that so many people can enjoy this album even if they don't understand Portuguese (and Yes the lyrics just beautifuly poetic)

Chico Buarque is a genius. "Construction" is exactly what he does in this album, through his words and sounds he builds whole cities only to destroy them all and start again. It leaves you helpless, small and oddly strong after being able to connect to everything he says.
