“News From Nowhere" should be retitled “The Album That Goes Nowhere". This album just stagnates for almost the entire album, most of the songs seem to have little point, hardly any structure. It’s starts of mediocre and stays that way for the majority of the album. Now, I say mediocre, not bad, because it isn’t. My overall impression of the album was “meh" with a few songs making me say “this is just pointless". However, there are two songs on this album that are actually quite good, the rest are entirely forgettable. Many of the songs can be aptly described as mediocre trance-like music with vocalist James Buttery moaning in a Thom Yorke falsetto. Honestly, check out the two good songs, “A Day’s Pay For A Day’s Work" and “Timeaway" and don’t bother with the rest.
