Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.0/100, a mean average of 71.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.1.

Solid enough listen - agree with Wizardalien that it tales off second half - but Mr Writer is just superb

The first half is brilliant, unfortunately the second half is a big drop-off. My highlights are Mr Writer, Have A Nice Day, Vegas Two Times and Step On My Old Size Nines. Weakest tracks - Caravan Holiday, Rooftop and Everyday I Think Of Money. The 2002 re-issue contains their brilliant cover of Handbags and Gladrags and makes the album even better.

A slightly pedestrian album by their standards, rescued primarily by the wonderful 'Mr Writer'.

OK album, not up to the standard of the first two, only a couple of good tracks here.

Very good album. Best 10 songs average is 90,0/100 and the album can get very good 90/100. Best song is "Mr. writer" great, followed by "Crying in the sun", "Step on my old size nines", "Have a nice day" and "Everyday I think of money" all very good. All (!!) other songs good. Favourite!
