Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.8/100, a mean average of 69.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.3.

The two well-known songs, Run Boy Run and Iron, are good but the rest of the album is really uninteresting. Feels like most of the tracks are the same, they really spammed that army band-style drum bit. (Edited)

"The Golden age" has a bombastic sound that creates an cinematic feeling. Unfortunately this and the dense metaphoric also greatly limits the album as it stays so big you don't really feel the emotions it is trying to convey. A notable exception is "Iron" which carries the epic feel the rest of the album tries to.

As an overall album, its nice, but just doesn't hit the mark altogether. This album has many ups and downs in terms of quality. Run boy run is one of my personal favorites, and, honestly, is one of the greatest tracks I've had the pleasure of listening too, Iron too.

Could do with the exclusion of a couple of songs, but overall I love this album. It takes baroque pop to the extreme and does a very good job of it, especially on Run Boy Run, Stabat Mater and Iron.

The album is ok and Woodkid clearly has a distinguishing sound. It would have been better if some songs had been left out. As it is, it is a bit too repetitive.
