Jazz vocalist Cassandra Wilson brings a sensual, contemplative vibe to her performances on this album. Notable are her renditions of her self composed songs and a couple of covers on which she puts her own spin - "Strange Fruit" and a crawling "Last Train To Clarksville." It is on the latter song that one really is impressed with the breadth of Wilson's delivery and her interpretive skills.
