I stumbled upon his music through a Sweet Relief tribute album, which had many artists I enjoy performing his songs. What I discovered was some of the best lyrics anywhere in music. Simply brilliant, Chesnutt brings his own tortured sound to his music that is often preferable and more poignant than the covers. West of Rome is one of his best.
