A lot of these songs sound perverted just to be so. There are semblances of hooks throughout, but they're often not cohesive enough to bring a completely catchy song through start-to-finish. The-Dream has also partially supplanted his Prince influence for more Michael Jackson impressions, which work for the most part. But michael would never be as crass as the-dream is on "michael". There's a way to put out perverted and horny sex songs -- the-dream has already done so quite well with "the love king" and that interim single "f*ck my brains out". (Shamefully, NEITHER track of that interim single with strong b-side made it onto "iv play". If those two songs were included and the 2 weakest track removed, this album would place at least 5 spots higher.) I think the multiple gestation periods for this album, which was supposed to come out and didn't multiple times, along with an overwhelming list of guests, probably overcame Nash's focus.

Not an instant classic as his past two albums but still worth the ride...
