Una ventina di anni fa sembrava che lo scettro di re del reggae rimasto vacante dopo la morte di Bob Marley potesse essere ereditato da questo Buju Banton. Questo album in effetti si pose alla pari e spesso al di sopra di molti classici del genere, mostrando una personalità del suo autore davvero notevole. Quando i ritmi si fanno ossessivi mi piace meno; al contrario, quando sono le radici rasta e quindi africane a venir fuori trovo che si raggiungano i risultati migliori. Naturalmente il trono lasciato da Marley continua ancora oggi ad essere vuoto, ma "'til Shiloh" è un gran disco.
