Sturgill Simpson burst on the scene with High Top Mountain. Its a traditional sounding, hard working, country album, with some great vocals and musicianship from some of the industry's top talents. It stands head and shoulders above what the genre as been for the past 20+ years, like a breath of fresh hill country air after being stuck in the polluted smog.

This fella is Country! A real throw-back, which probably means no one will ever hear about him, or Nashville will grab hold of him and shape him in to a carbon copy of all the other milk toast trash they put out.
