Excellent songs all the way through, the benefit of having three strong songwriters. The music is edgy and full of musical surprises, definitely held my interest. It has noise and distortion in the right measure, and even some avant on Gaffney's songs. It's cool that it has a theme too, heartbreak/break-up album mostly. The female backing vocals are a nice touch, along with interesting vocal harmonies by the band. The album is deceptively nuanced musically, particularly for something classed as "lo-fi".
