Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.6/100, a mean average of 75.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.7.

There is nothing like listening to this album on my morning commute. It is almost as if it has been specifically created for it - it's almost exactly the same length as my train journey so can be listened to start to finish. I used to love UF Orb, Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld and this album back in the day and whilst I struggle to go back to the Orb's albums which I feel haven't dated so well as complete works, this is still the ultimate ambient album for me and still feels perfect from start to finish. I never tire of Elvis and Fleetwood Mac fading in and out and Wichita Lineman... still gives me chills. People that haven't heard it don't understand why this album is one of my all time favourites, I guess they only know KLF for their dance singles. If you like instrumental/ambient music and haven't heard it give it a try - you don't know what you're missing.

"Ambient Music" doesn't do it justice. This is not Brian Eno dinking around on a piano for half an hour. This is so much more. One single, cohesive, enthralling, beautiful, unrivaled composition. If I were to apply the term "post-music" to any piece of music I have heard so far, it would be this. It is not a conscious deconstruction of musical conventions, as in post-rock or ambient, but seemingly created from a state of mind with no concept of musical convention at all. Just beauty, emotion, feeling. There are very very few albums that get added to my chart after just 2 listens, but this is one.

Ambient masterpiece. All done in one take from start to finish with lots of beautiful and varied samples laid over the original music of the KLF. It's just a really interesting album. I, clearly and emphatically, love it from start to finish.
Recommended for anyone who likes ambient or electronic or sample-based experimental, or ambient house, or super chill and creative music.
