Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.6/100, a mean average of 76.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.7.

Their cleanest sounding album. Unique in their catalogue. I don't listen to it a lot, but I like it as a full album

I haven't heard every Sonic Youth album ever (yet), but Murray Street is my least favorite. The songs meander pointlessly a bit more than I would like them to. That being said, most of the songs on here are still flowing with creativity.

An Amazing album, one of my favorites of the 21st century. Sonic Youth continued to go into new territory they had been searching in their last few records, but this time they blended some more structure, but there's still an eerie edge that makes the record unique. My biggest criticism is that Lee and Kim together didn't sing half the songs, and whats worse than that is that their 3 don't measure up to Thurston's 4 (but they're still good songs).

Favorite Tracks: The Empty Page, Disconnection Notice, Rain On Tin, Radical Adults Lick Godhead Style.

This one got me. It's Sonic Youth with Jim O'Rourke. It's guitar work at its finest.
Beautifully crafted jams with amazing melodic works.
