A vast improvement on Torches. Lots of catchy songs and a generally fun album

honestly I was impressed by this album, I thought that after Torches they would just fade out. And even though this album has no NO.1 single like "Pumped of Kicks", it might be even more consistent, creative, and more daring album. Enjoyable pop for all that it matters.

Not as strong as their first, but they've differently branched into other genre's in this release. A Beginner's Guide to Destroying the Moon, has snippet in the second verse that sounds really heavy, which is accompanied by loud almost screaming vocals. Same goes for Fire Escape which starts off like your typical white guy with an acoustic guitar. haha Overall I really enjoyed this album, and respect their attempt to vary more.
One of the most experimental pop albums out there. It does everything right, and every song has a unique sound. Albeit commercially weaker than their first album, I'd say it's musically and lyrically stronger
