Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a mean average rating of 71.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 71.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

Early U2 always sounded good, played well, good production etc. On this album though they forgot to write some songs. Or more likely they were told to make a record but weren't ready after the debut. There are a couple of stand outs but mostly just pedestrian. Whatever the problems they had with October had defiantly been resolved when it came to making the next record.
Very average, doesn't really have any stand out tracks. The band sounds good but the songs aren't memorable besides Gloria, I Fall Down, and Rejoice.
Love it so much! Fall Down is my favorite song in this record
A decent album from the early works. Not a lot of classic hits and really the album as a whole is a little hit or miss to me. I do enjoy Gloria and I Fall Down
The band sounds good but that's it. Nothing stands out. Rather forgettable.
U2 were not really ready to record a follow up to, boy, as they had no songs, but since they had to, they winged it. It was written on the fly, in the studio, and although there is a lot of energy, is does sound a little short on something. Gloria, is a great opener, and, I fall down, is fine, but the record just doesn't have the focus and quality of their first album. Having said that, it's still enjoyable, but easily the weakest of their early period.
Love this album definitely in my top 3 by U2. I really don't get what the hate is about, some great tracks here. It's definitely ignored by everyone including the band, though it doesn't deserve to be.
Fair album slightly similar to the 1st album clearly not as good, opening track the best for me followed by 'Rejoice'
