Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.3/100, a mean average of 77.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.7.

One of the greatest rappers I've ever heard. The album is kept from being a classic thanks to the lame production and the repetitiveness of the songs. 9.5/10!

Along with Celph Titled, Big L is one of the funniest MC that ever grabbed a mic, his punchlines are savage and well-thought. RIP Big L

Up there with Em & Nas lyrically. It's so sad he died young, and is still very unheard of.

Big L is arguably a better emcee than Biggie, if we woulda been able to see Big L release 1 or 2 more LPs he might have made that argument very easy to make.

As stated before, the production makes this quite a boring album. I do like the lyrics though. I'm kinda wishing someone would redo this album....Make the talent in this shine a bit more. All Black is a great track though, the productions a step up on that one.

Agree lyrically his rhymes are some of the funniest I've heard recorded but the production is so dull and monotonous that it's difficult to ever want to listen to it again.

one of the most overlooked rap albums of all-time....production is very raw and simplistic, but Big L is one of the greatest MCs to ever grab the mic...tragedy that he was killed before he achieved any success

Big L shows his punchline talents in this album a lot. production is not very good but L carries it with his flow and quote able lyrics.
