The misunderstood Get Hurt is the final album by Gaslight Anthem before they went on an extended hiatus. The record explores a big arena rock sound, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. The songwriting is still really good and will leave you emotional and nostalgic for something you'd never dreamed of.
Track Pick: Underneath the Ground
Gems: Get Hurt, Rollin' and Tumblin'
The opening track starts really heavy and its a bit of a departure from what they've done previously and with the title track you'd think that they're really moving in another direction but those are the only stand out tracks on the album, the rest of it sounds like American Slang being recycled.. It's a shame too because Get Hurt and Stay Vicious are really great songs.
Selected Poems is another standout track too....
