Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 67.9/100, a mean average of 65.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.7.

Kind of good, especially in the first half which makes it seem like it's going to be at least a consistently good album, but then it falls apart in the second half. Too long and brought down by too many mediocre tracks. Then there's the nu-metal-ish "My Only Enemy" which is totally out of place and not very good either. Again, still not a bad album but it seems like it had potential to be better. Also spelling "week" like "weak" is dumb and doesn't even make any sense, and it annoys me a lot even almost 25 years later.

Actually not a huge album... But a few awesome tracks and the fillers are at least enjoyable and consistent.
