Couple of good songs and the rest was Meh. Rating (74.23)

Some filler songs, but the highlights are absolutely stunning. "Off Broadway," "Rip Off," and "I Taught Myself How to Grow Old," in an album that lacks Adams's usual soul pretty noticeably, stack up to his best work, no question.
A disappointing Ryan Adams album. The problem with Adams as always is quantity over quality when it should be the other way round.

Guy puts out inconsistent work and i give him high marks. Guy puts out a solid, seemingly-safe collection of good songs and i react "ho-hum". Thing is, those inconsistencies were littered with dark beauty, hearts ripped from the chest and thrown out a taxi window downtown. "Easy Tiger" feels more like re-read diary entries of tough times seen through the wisdom of a well-worn life. Thing is, the guy's still young -- bring on the haphazard recklessness! "i taught myself how to grow old" sorta says it.
