Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 11% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.6/100, a mean average of 74.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.3.

Underrated, this is better than a 53rd place in 1990.

Ex Waterboy Karl Wallinger puts together a terrific sophomore effort here with World Party. If your a fan of Beatlesque pop this album is worth your time. LOVE this album!

Not stunning, but a solid pop album full of enjoyable songs with, put the message in the box, the obvious standout. Decent stuff.

Way Down Now and Message in the Box showed a band with an original sound and the whole thing also helps prove how great the Waterboys were on This is the Sea.

Airy and delightful. This album deals with issues from the environment to relationship troubles while it manages to maintain an optimistic outlook. It is difficult to keep track of all the styles cleverly woven into "Goodbye Jumbo". Merging streams of pop, rock, soul, dance and folk. It's Beatlesque without being derivative. It's jammed pack with awesome songs from start to finish.
