Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.9/100, a mean average of 79.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.0.

There are so many great songs on here. But not 28 of them. Berry borrowed heavily from himself, which becomes really noticeable when you string all his hits together.

Pilar do rock!
This is ageless. It's good to get back to the roots of rock music. This music still has a great feel and is totally refreshing in its simplicity and authenticity.
This album rocks. Just does.

It is a compilation, so it's tough for me to include this as a best-ever-album. But Chuck Berry was in an age of singles, and no single alubm comes remotely close to the collection of tracks here. Hmm...

For someone on a budget who is interested in the music of this legendary artist, look no further than this single disc album. The sound and track selection here are excellent. Anyone interested in early Rock 'N Roll needs to have at least one Chuck Berry album in their collection and you can't go wrong here.
Great guitarist, great songs indeed, but why this compilation above all the other numerous Chuck Barry compilations? Having said that any is better than none.

what he said....I remember Berry trying to show keith richards a particular guitar riff, but richards had trouble getting the subtle string bending that berry was playing..I love richards and can really combine blues and rock as well as any out there...it was a fascinating lesson from one of the blues/rock masters.
He knew how to craft a perfect song for the audience he knew would listen...Chuck Berry maybe the backbone of Rock & Roll from the Beatles to Springsteen to the Stones you can hear his influence

Few songs from any rock genre rock as hard as "Maybelline".
