Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Jazz a cult? Jazz is something that nothing can ever be expressed anyway else. Jazz appeals so much to me, I was in jazz band for 5 years straight, I studied jazz music theories and I am a huge fan of bebop, big band, smooth, and advant-garde jazz, it is all brilliant. Without jazz, modern rock music would be lost. I respect anyone who actually listens to music, you don't have to bag on me for just liking jazz, but someone who can't respect me for being who I am shouldn't receive any respect back.
The reason behind Radiohead is the perspective they bring, the advance sound and mood it brings to me. Kid A is something I will never get tired of, it is just brilliant.

Your fuckin chart eats my fuckin balls for breakfest, with Cherrios and OJ like it saw in commercials, and would duplicate as a child as a part of a healthy meal. Then it grew up, put on a suit and tie, conscious of straight or plaited, whatever is in line with the trend, then it stood up in front of a podium, on the White House lawn, with a big fuckin dick erected in the background, with seven microphones in front of you, you spoke, "I need to shut the fuck up."

Great chart positioned in the 60´s 70´s!
Maybe nothing for the youngsters, but I cannot understand the ratings below 70 points!
Who the hell downrates this chart so terribly?

Fantastic list. Some great choices there. You and others on this site have peaked my interest in the group Love. Just ordered it. You also reminded me to revisit my Stooges cds. Thanks again!I found your list after reading your comments about my list and your very perceptive scolding regarding my ommission of jazz artists. For whatever reason I was thinking rock only for the list. I just updated with a smattering of Jazz but with admittedly many glaring ommissions (Miles, Coltrane, Torme) but it still seems to me these are primarily rock n roll lists. Just me probably, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Looking forward to your updates. Where's your jazz you hypocrite! :}
