Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 19% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.1/100, a mean average of 73.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.7.

Indie synth pop. Couple of really good tracks. Overall decent listen. Some filler.
Sure they went for a more commercial pop oriented sound but I love it. First Goldfrapp album I got into and it should definitely be ranked higher but I am only one person and I'm here to do what I can. Easily in my top 10 of 2005.
I'm not so impressed by this one. They broke to mainstream with this, but other than that I find it an inconsistent album. It has its great moments though, like 'Koko'.
Their big pop moment. I prefer the more uncompromising "Black Cherry" and in a sense, it's almost as if that sound has been a tiny bit watered down for more commercial success on "Supernature". It worked and they sold a lot whilst still retaining most of their artistic integrity. A consistently good pop record.
Consistently sexy and impressive synthpop. It may not be much of a shift in tone or style from their great predecessor "Black Cherry", but "Supernature" marks the sound of Goldfrapp having fun whilst completely owning their territory. Understandably, this album provided the duo with their "Big Pop Moment" and i'm glad they found success because the album really was quite special in comparison to the uninspiring electropop landscape of the mid 00s. Well done Goldfrapp for producing yet another solid piece of work.
A great electronica album. It's all very sexy and danceable, but like, black cherry, I miss the atmospherics of the, felt mountain, album. Still, great pop music.
Picked this up in a charity shop for a quid - what a pleasantly surprising bargain that turned out to be. Tight, tasteful, memorable and punchy, this is electronic pop music par excellence.
