Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.4/100, a mean average of 75.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.0.

Not bad, but in 79’ better albums have Rainbow, Pink Floyd, Joy Division, Cure, Wire, Tangerine Dreams, Omega, ELO, Eloy, Zappa, Faithfull, Madness, Hawkwind, Stranglers
Parallel lines was always going to be hard to follow but she's done a fine job with this. Majority of tracks are in the same caliber. Apart from the hits, 'Accidents never Happen', 'Union City Blue', 'Living in the Real World' and the title track could grace a best of album. A few in the filler category but overall, solid effort
Blondie is so much fun
I don't know what it is about this album. I am a fan the first album of theirs that I owned was Plastic Letters 85/100 then came Parallel Lines also 85/100 and that brings me to this Eat To The Beat it just doesn't do it for me too many lows compared to the high points of the album Atomic, Dreaming, Union City Blue & Slow Motion are great. Victor, Shayla, The Hardest Part & Sound Asleep are really quite average compared to tracks on the previous two albums. Autoamerican (85/100) was a big step forward much more varied and musically progressive.
Not a bad album up to the last 3 tracks not so keen, all the hits are great here.
This album is great!! I could do without Sound Asleep I think... It doesn't fit with he rest of the song (all very strong in my opinion). Huge hooks, great song writing, great drumming, pure pop bliss. And it was one of the first, or the first? visual album, which makes it even more cool!
This album could be considered the the origin of the "dream pop" genre.
I must also add that Ellie Greenwich sings back up vocals on Dreaming and Atomic. That, in itself, makes this album amazing.
Atomic.
...and the pop hits just keep coming. Not as strong as Parallel Lines, but still chock full of hooks.
My favorite Blondie album, and I've heard them all.
