Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 12% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.5/100, a mean average of 73.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.1.

My favorite Blondie album. They're at their best when they don't try too hard, and just make catchy rock tunes. Downside of it, is of course that it sounds quite derivative of all garage rock you already know from the '60s, and especially The Doors - especially on "Man Overboard" - seeing the set-up of instruments and how and when they're used. It is however telling of a band's lack of imagination that they can pick up a novel instrument like the synthesizer, and can't do anything more with it than use it as an organ with a slightly different sound.

Not quite Parallel Lines, but Blondie generally proves to be more fun than I anticipate.

I love this album, catchy and aggressive and young. The energy in this album is infectious. Very beatle-ish melody's with Debbie's vocals charm, I mean, who can ask for more? and Clem Burke, he is everything!

Like it a lot, it sounds like a Doors album fronted by Debbie Harry.

Still working out the kinks. You can see the beginnings of Parallel Lines shining through, but not quite there yet.
