Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.7/100, a mean average of 72.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.6.

One of the top Canadian solo artists! This album was written back when he was known as Matthew Good Band, and is probably their best album until the band broke up in 2001. From start to finish, this album is a knockout, starting with the smash hit openers Giant, Hello Time Bomb, Strange Days, the album then leads into I Miss New Wave, a great slow song, Load Me Up another smash hit appears next, then Failing the Rorschach Test, an excellent song! Suburbia, a very slow paced and very moving song, Lets Get It On, another great unfamiliar track, Jenni's Song, great lyrics great track. Going All The Way, sets to mood a bit lighter. Then, A Boy and His Machine Gun, a song not to be overlooked. Another smash hit The Future is X-Rated appears, followed by the final two tracks, Born to Kill, another very slow paced track, and Running for Home, a stunning piano piece and great album closer...and that is why it makes this album the best Matthew Good Band Album

I guess I'd have to agree that this is not quite as strong as Underdogs (or some of his notable later solo work) but the high points are still very strong. Strange Days is one of my favourite radio songs ever.

Better than Underdogs, simply due to the variety he shows on this album. He's stretching his legs...

Not a bad follow up to 'Underdogs' but falls short on consistency.
