Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 13% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.6/100, a mean average of 75.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.7.

A great album from a little-known alt-rock/post-punk band with a lot going on. Something Bigger Something Brighter is the pinnacle of the album, but Blue Lights, The Teeth Collector, and the final two tracks are all fantastic. There's a lot of energy on this album, and you can tell there's something more than a simple knack for song writing here.
Just don't expect any time to collect your thoughts - After the first track, the entire album is hectic and fast-paced with the exception of Blue Lights. But the insertion of extra instruments and sound effects here and there keep your attention: the dirty organ riff in Something Bigger, Mr. Club's electronic beat, Track 7's (really, what are we supposed to call this track?) backwards drums and guitar, and the keyboard line in The New Romance. It's creative in places you wouldn't expect it to be, and it's an experience that's thoroughly enjoyable when in the proper mindset.
This short-lived band should get a little more praise, especially since there are so few bands of this genre with female vocalists. I actually like them more than the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the main band of this ilk in the 00's. So please, if you're reading this, give it a shot.
