Beach Boy Mike Love put this album together in 1996, utilizing former Beach Boys Hits and featuring a dozen guest vocalists to augment the Beach Boys in their patriotic performances. Most of the guests come from the world of country music i.e. Lorrie Morgan, Willie Nelson, Toby Keith and Ricky Van Shelton. I guess this is an attempt to demonstrate the universality of The Beach Boys music. However, the songs and guest performances end up sounding trite and tired. A sure-fire wipe out for this listener.
