A Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology is the first album by The Menzingers, an influential punk rock band. The members practically teenagers on this record, and they take a lot of influence from Against Me!. Sounds a lot like Green Day too. The raspy vocals are too much and thankfully did not continue after this record. Richard Coury is an interesting tragic tale. Even For an Eggshell references Hamlet, something I imagine is uncommon in the punk genre. But the band's strongest trait is their vocal harmonies, reminiscent of The Beatles and The Crickets/Buddy Holly, which are featured on Coal City Blues
