Figure Humaine was composed in a time when France was occupated by nazi-german soldiers.
The score was smuggled out to Britain.
After liberation in 1944 Figure humaine was performed first in Paris. A french student told me, the words from Part 8 - "Liberte´" are known be every schoolchild in france.

Today the words get an new context thinking about torrorism and fundamental pressure.
