My chart is not here to fulfill snobs requirements. I don't venerate your sacred cows. I counterbalance the negative hypes. I laugh at the imperative of "variety" (where are the hardcore punk, tango, black metal, cumbia or world genres in your charts?). I choose feelings over rationalization, galvanic reaction over snob conformity and authenticity over posing. And I will always embrace punk rock, such an underrated genre on this site. This is not the greatest albums of all time chart but my personal all time favourites list.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Really cool chart. Loved seeing Soda Stereo (twice) - my favourite Argentinian band. Loved seeing ten entries from Argentina - will check out those I haven't heard of before.
The other cool surprises were:
The 'Once' soundtrack - love the movie and the song 'falling slowly';
Two albums from Aussie band "Royal Headache". I wonder how an unknown independent Aussie band gets known across the vastness of the Pacific Ocean?
Anyway, I enjoyed checking out the entire chart and glimpsing a few pleasant surprises.

Great chart and love the intro. Greatest albums is always a misnomer. It’s always going to be your personal favourites and, on the whole, I love yours.

LOVE the inclusion of 'This Is A Long Drive...' and 'Signals, Calls & Marches'! Great to see them getting the recognition they deserve. Your chart is a little alt-rock heavy for my liking however (+ they were things going on in the 60s that weren't the Beatles!!). Would be nice to see some hip hop/electronic/jazz thrown in the mix!

20 albums in common and 27 that I don't own, including the 9 from Argentina (which I'm broad minded enough to check out). Not that much variety though.
