I never really got this album. Having read the comments below, I think that I need to revisit and reassess. Might become a grower (Edited)
A slept on gem... This really is fantastic and fast becoming one of my favourite Primal Scream albums to date... (Edited)
It didn't take long for this to become one of my favorite Primal Scream albums. I like every track on this. Most songs very electronic rock orientated. Great rhythms, great beats. ''Deep Hit Of Morning Sun' is a blinder and a fantastic opening track. 'Autobahn 66' has taken the crown for now being my favorite Primal song. Overall a top album.

I completely dig the 'Some Velvet Morning' cover other wise nothing else here .
"Evil Heat" may follow closely in the footsteps of its superior predecessor "XTRMNTR", but there is an attempt to try something different, namely the marriage between noise-rock and electro-pop, with various degrees of success. The electroclash influences are very much appreciated (the Kate Moss duet "Some Velvet Morning" standing out as a highlight) and the lyrics manage to be impressionistic, morbid and, for the most part, powerful. Overall it's a gritty yet enjoyable record.

"XTRMNTR" vol. 2. Nothing new to get on this one, but since the quality is almost the same, it's criminally underrated!
