It is rare that I take huge slaps with current hip-hop. But "Imperial" is really one. Denzel Curry is a young talent from Carol City, South Florida. We are witnessing, mixtape after mixtape, the ever more advanced emergence of an extraordinary rapper with dark eyes and bitter flow, that he poses on trap productions, shared between narcolepsy and the purest violence. Arrogant, incisive, Denzel Curry is however not this gangsta without personality, raised to the bandanas of 2pac and to the urban tales of Ice Cube. His universe is more introspective, self-centered on comics and cartoons, this hip-hop that grew between a bowl of Froot Loops and a weed join, which we called cloud rap. Between these different atmospheres, Denzel's flow is very technical. "Imperial" is full of fine and melodic productions. While their first album was a bit too acid, "Imperial" is more concise and announces a bright future for Denzel.

Denzel Curry is really making a name for himself. Amazing mixtape for trap rap. Very consistent, good trap beats and fantastic rapping.
