This could have been recorded in the eighties. Superb vocals with the ever present synth textures providing what sounds like minimalistic foundations to the tracks, but that is the clever bit...

The Lexicon Of Love is without a doubt a classic and a high watermark of 1980's New Pop. 34 years later comes the sequel, whereas the original came out all gun's blazing amid the hearts and flowers this is a more subtle, looser, more world weary reflection on love. Sure, it lacks the BIG tunes of LOL1 but it still has tunes all the same, damn good ones too - only this time they're more interested in tugging at your heart strings than making you dance like Fred Astaire.
