The discovery of Slippery When Wet as a young teenager made me realise that music was fun and not just a backing soundtrack to our lives. And for that I am grateful because it triggered a dormant passion for music that left Bon Jovi far far away in my distant past. Thank fuck for that!
Too bad they are mixed up with the hair metal stereotypes because they are a truly great band with great songs. The fact that they are one of the few that survived grunge shows this. Richie Sambora is a very underrated guitar player (and singer). JBJ is a prototypical front man.

He's a passionate singer and you can tell the band has fun, but the songs are corny and all sound the same.
