Very atmospheric band. Agree with the comments about there live performances. Disappointed that les revenants is ranked so low. Love that soundtrack

As loud as it gets live. 'Happy Songs' is their best album by some way and yet is strangely ranked far too low here.
They're a very impressive live band. The records are worth listening, too. Most of them, at least.
Sometimes good, sometimes boring. I don't know really what to think except between two good songs they completed with a one-rythm-only song. Anaywy it's worth listening, it's generally atmosphere and relaxing music.

@covecove You mean Slint? But while I think Mogwai is a bit overrated, they certainly deserve the attention more than many other bands. Without Mogwai, I wouldn't of even considered listening to Slint, who brought me to the great music on Touch and Go Records. So think of Mogwai more as like the gatekeepers to darker Post-Rock. But "soulless"??? Listen to "Like Herod" or "Mogwai Fear Satan". They really get into it.
