Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 2% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 80.9/100, a mean average of 81.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.1/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 11.5.

Our current kings of hip-hop.
Hip hop has never been this heavy
Totally agree with the comments about how powerful RTJ’s music is, and the uniqueness of their sound.
RTJ are absolutely inspiring. To me, as of RTJ3, they are pushing two boundaries concurrently: 1) They seem to have the best sounding production on top of flawless song arrangements, musicianship and samples, and 2) They have the most thought provoking / in your face lyrics of doom and gloom I believe we haven’t seen for decades. They also have a very creative and original sound. I am really, really looking forward to hearing their next creation [RTJ4].
El P is an amazing producer and an ok rapper but Killer Mike is an extremely talented Mc which makes this group remarquable. El P takes a lot from electronic music particularly on RTJ2 and 3 which gives them a trademark sound. 1. RTJ2 2. RTJ3 3. RTJ1.
One of the two premier rap duos putting out music today (The other being Hail Mary Mallon). The partnership of the producer and the rapper has mostly faded into history, but El-P and Killer Mike have resurrected this old school collaborative technique to astounding effect. Their politically charged music will be the anthem for many revolutions to come.
They've made the same album three times, but you can't beat that price.
Fuck, do these guys put out some powerful music. I think hip hop might be in the midst of a rennaissance or new golden age and these guys might be right there leading.
They promise so much...
